Our Opportunity:

The Advisor Services Technology (AST) team is responsible for building applications for financial advisors. These solutions are essential to the success of the investment advisor and offer features such as client relationship management, portfolio accounting, trading, data integration, reporting and much more. AST offers a wide range of technology opportunities for the best and brightest people to grow and demonstrate their skills as they develop leading edge financial applications.

What you’ll do:

The Staff QA Engineer will work closely with developers and other QA members to test new features and bug fixes for PortfolioCenter, PortfolioCenter Hosted and PortfolioServices. The right candidate will have exposure to QA best practices as well as experience with QA-related functions such as vetting requirements, creating test plans and test cases, executing test cases, creating automation scripts, and reviewing regression results in order to quickly determine if our products are ready for market. This position will also be responsible for working with developers and technical support to debug field issues and determine options for resolution. QA team members at SPT work very closely with developers on an integrated team dedicated to delivering high quality solutions, and the right candidate will enjoy being part of a highly interactive team.

What you have:

Required:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance for highly complex projects related to distributed platform or mainframe batch applications

  • 5+ years’ experience in Automation testing

  • Proven experience with black box and white box testing techniques and tools

  • Experience in automating Web Services, Micro-Services and data processes (extracting/loading)

  • 1-3 years of experience developing with C#, Node.js, .Net, JavaScript or Powershell

  • 1-3 years of experience with Selenium, Selenium Grid, Protractor

  • 1-3 years of experience with Oracle, SQL, Mongo, transfer or data delivery technologies

  • 1-3 years of experience with Sikuli

  • Strong written and verbal communications, teamwork and problem-solving skills

  • Experience supporting a Test-Driven Development culture by contributing to automated unit and integration tests

  • Engage in testing as a part of the development cycle, thereby shortening the QA cycle, and increasing QA breadth and depth of knowledge of the Banking applications

  • Ability to interact and communicate successfully with business partners and technology teams

  • Experience with Agile Development Practices, Scrum and supporting apps: Microsoft Test Manager (MTM), Jira and TFS Team Explorer

  • Self-starter who can grasp difficult concepts and large architectures quickly and stay on top of new and emerging technologies

  • Ability to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions when tools don’t work

  • Experience working with resources in different geographical locations and offshore vendors

  • Become familiar with the DevOps culture and practices, be ready to put to use immediately and incrementally

  • 1-3 years of experience with financial services or brokerage industry

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • BS or MS in computer science or related technical field

  • Experience with SilkTest

  • Experience with LINQ, HTML5, JavaScript, Angular, Mongo DB is a plus
