Within Advisor Services, the Advisor Technology Solutions team is specifically focused on helping advisors deliver an exceptional client experience, while driving their own firm’s productivity by providing them with industry leading proprietary and third-party technology solutions.

What you’ll do:

Advisor Technology Solutions is seeking an experienced Sr. Business Analyst to plan and drive the execution of multiple projects within our Portfolio Management Solutions team as we build our next generation of portfolio management solutions. Key components of the role include:

  • Work with clients, service, and sales to understand the marketplace and prioritize reported issues and enhancement requests.

  • Lead the design and development of features, functions and quality of experience for our next generation of portfolio management solutions as the Product Owner on an Agile development team.

  • Create detailed business requirements – including use cases, user stories, and workflows – to define product and service features.

  • Manage the backlog for a Scrum team. Includes defining and prioritizing the stories that represent the scope of the product feature areas, incorporating the needs of the development team to support the technology required for delivery.

  • Apply product management best practices and controls to align multiple business analysts working in parallel.

  • Mentor junior product management staff in requirements definition and Agile product ownership.

  • Proactively analyze data and applying problem-solving skills to deliver recommendations and drive results.

  • Provide assistance and guidance to junior product management staff in establishing subject matter expertise for their product feature areas and expanding their industry knowledge.

  • Apply Agile best practices to ensure the product management staff is operating in consistent manner to guide their scrum teams and deliver product features.

  • Establish and maintain product management systems & documentation

  • Adapt project scope, schedules, and resource assignments as required throughout projects to respond to emerging requirements and risks

  • Drive stakeholder and organizational alignment on product priorities and trade-offs.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for cross-functional groups.

What you have:

The person in this role should be a self-starter with a well-rounded skill set to work effectively on a variety of initiatives. Specifically, this person should have:

  • Proven leadership skills including excellent interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills, as well as managerial courage and the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve results that support the company’s goals and vision

  • Experience designing and launching new technology products including: market assessment, requirements definition, UX design

  • Demonstrated expertise in requirements elicitation

  • Experience as the Product Owner for an Agile development team including: writing user stories, story grooming, sprint planning, backlog management, and development of product roadmaps

  • Track record of building partnerships to effectively deliver on projects in a cross-functional environment and driving those projects to completion

  • Strong written and oral communications

  • Self-starter with outstanding organizational skills to track and manage multiple projects

  • Comfort operating in a dynamic and fast-moving environment

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Detailed knowledge of Agile methods and processes

  • Demonstrated experience with Portfolio Management Systems with emphasis on methodologies to calculate:

  • Time Weighted Rate of Return

  • Yield for equities securities

  • Yield for fixed income securities

  • Realized gains

  • Unrealized gains

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with technology partners

  • Experience working with MongoDB, JSON, HTML5, and CSS

  • Experience with responsive UX design leveraging the Angular framework

  • 5+ years of business analysis/product management experience

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services particularly investment portfolio management

  • Preferably MBA
