Our Opportunity:

The Director of Digital Marketing Strategy reports to the Senior Vice President of Content & Client Marketing, and is part of the team that oversees the most visible and influential channels for client engagement and acquisition growth, including at , organic and paid search, email marketing, YouTube at , and content distribution in social and paid media.

This role will shape Schwab’s strategy for creating best-in-class digital marketing experiences for prospects and clients. This in turn will have significant impact on driving growth for Schwab’s retail business. In addition, the Director will lead special projects to execute on strategies as needed.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as strategy consultant to the Content & Client Marketing (CCM) team to develop digital channel strategy and plans in support of strategic initiatives:

  • Use data and insights driven approach;

  • Communicate strategy through compelling presentations

  • Lead special projects to implement strategies where needed:

  • Manage a cross-functional team

  • Opportunity to deliver results and build tangible capabilities – in addition to demonstrating strategic leadership

  • Source, curate and synthesize data to help the CCM team evaluate the impact of the channel experience and marketing programs they manage, and gain insights to drive continuously improving results:

  • Work with Analytics & Business Insights (ABI) and CCM to develop learning agenda, regular reports/dash boards and analyses

  • Act as consultant to CCM team to support the use of interactive reporting tools (Tableau) to conduct data analysis and discover insights

  • Develop internal communications and presentations that are delivered to cross functional teams and senior leadership to socialize team strategies, results and programs

  • Develop a deep understanding of our prospect’s and client’s mind set through information gathered through market research, the field and “voice of the client” from other sources

What you have:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business/corporate strategy, marketing analytics, product marketing or product management required

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred

  • Prior experience in financial services preferred, but not required

  • Ability to translate complex and varied inputs including market data, market research, competitive positioning, clients insights, and more into actionable strategies that drive growth

  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences

  • An adaptive, self-starter who can drive progress against goals and deadlines with minimal direction

  • Intellectual curiosity, a can-do attitude and the ability to learn quickly and thrive in a complex, dynamic environment

  • Skilled in operating at both strategic and tactical levels

  • Highly effective in collaborating across teams, building strong relationships with partners, and making connections among different projects/initiatives to develop integrated insights and strategies
