Our Opportunity:

The Managing Director of Social Media plays a key role within Schwab’s Corporate Communications team, reporting to the Vice President of Advocacy & Engagement. This role includes creating, implementing and measuring organic and paid social media campaigns that drive specific perceptions of Charles Schwab and help to increase awareness of Schwab as a good place to work and to invest.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive strategy and execution of creative social media campaigns tied to specific business and communications objectives

  • Create or direct the creation of engaging social media content

  • Manage internal and external creative agency resources

  • Serve as mentor and manager for one direct report and as a resource to many others across the firm

  • Lead and grow a center of expertise for influencer engagement and advocacy

  • Work closely with marketing, communications and business partners across the firm on social media strategy and integrated campaigns

  • Pitch in to help support social media community management efforts when needed

  • Help ensure that the team has the right technology resources to support objectives

  • Lead team’s efforts to measure and report on results

What you have:

  • 8+ years of experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, and/or social media

  • Experience working in financial services or another highly regulated industry and/or strong interest in or passion for investing

  • Strong writing and editing skills

  • Intermediate to advanced design skills (e.g., proficiency with Photoshop and/or Adobe products)

  • Experience working for or managing agencies

  • Familiarity with social media technologies such as Spredfast, Hearsay, AirPR, Traackr, and Crimson Hexagon
