Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Santa Barbara, California

Description

We are offering a role in Santa Barbara, California with an established company. This position is for a Payroll Specialist who will be working in a dynamic office environment. This job offers a long term contract/ temporary to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Process semi-monthly payroll for a significant number of employees in the organization.

• Prepare and distribute payroll reports to relevant departments.

• Maintain and manage time and labor software.

• Ensure compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.

• Implement new hire orientation and administer human resource programs such as compensation, benefits, leave, workers' compensation, and training.

• Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers.

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.

• Assist in preparing financial statements within established timelines.

• Supervise office staff, delegate tasks, and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.

• Maintain an effective cash management system and oversee all aspects of business office functions including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting.

• Reconcile all accounts prior to month end and complete end-of-month accounting reports as assigned.

• Set up and maintain accruals for expenses.

• Use Accounting Software Systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, Microsoft Outlook, Paylocity, and other relevant skills to perform accounting functions, accounts payable, provide customer service, and manage payroll.

Requirements • Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suites

• Ability to use Microsoft Outlook effectively

• Understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Strong Customer Service skills

• Experience in managing Payroll processes

• Knowledge of Paylocity software
