Amazon Sr Program Manager , Profitability & Business Metrics Services Finance in Seattle, Washington

We are seeking a Senior Program Manager to join the Profitability & Business Metric Services (PBMS) finance team supporting Contribution Profit (CP). This team partners with business and technical teams to develop systems and mechanisms that deliver profitability metrics, insights and automated decision-making for the WW Stores businesses.

This role will focus on the system that provides item-level profitability metrics for every package that Amazon delivers and is used in both managerial reporting and automated systems across the Stores business. This will require a deep understanding of how this system utilizes economic, financial, and business fundamentals to attribute costs and revenues to millions of shipments a day to drive informed decision-making at many levels. You will be working along side with Product Managers, Applied Scientists, Big Data Engineers and Software Development Engineers who build large-scale data intelligence systems.

You will lead allocation improvements through building consistent mechanisms with CP global stakeholders and customers acting as a liaison between this team and global partners to develop a plan to Improve Accuracy with optimal cost allocation across various parts of the businesses in Amazon. This role will also be partnering with finance leaders, economist and technical teams to drive the allocation changes. As the finance program lead, you will own building mechanisms to drive controllership, accuracy and insights in these products which directly ties to measurable, large scale improvements for the business, finance, sellers and our customers.

This role operates in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment, and the successful candidate must have the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders. The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically in an ambiguous environment with many stakeholders and differing opinions. This individual should possess solid business judgment, strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a strong desire to dive deep into business problems and help solve them.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build governance model for standardized and centralized WW CP allocations to ensure the long term success of CP through consistency and financial controllership

  • Be the single owner for managing and tracking the program success across tools that we support.

  • Create unified tracking mechanisms for progress on goals/roadmap for the team through helping set milestones, collaborating with key stakeholders, holding partner teams accountable

  • Build a robust customer engagement model in collaboration with Product teams.

  • Develop documentation and wikis for the team and bring together different pieces into a unified consolidated overview.

  • Drive workstreams to facilitate synergies between tools and document OP plans and 3YF vision for the team.

About the team

PBMS Finance is the primary finance partner for CP products (HCP and FLCP) and all customer facing analytical tools within Profit Intelligence (Phoenix) and Chronicle products (Fortune, Turismo, Overwatch and CP to P&L bridging). These tools drive critical decisions such as pricing, selection and key business insights for Amazon and power Amazon's flywheel.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
