Job Description

An employer in the Woodlands, TX area is seeking a SQL Database Administrator II to join their Database Architecture Team. This team is responsible for supporting over 100 SQL servers. Currently, they are going through an enterprise-wide transformation to the Azure cloud. The DBA II will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of the SQL and Azure SQL Databases in support of the move. This person will be expected to perform typical DBA duties including patching, installations, etc. as well as have a strong understanding of the backend including security. There is opportunity for upward mobility as well as technical exposure in other areas such as Oracle.

Skills and Requirements

3-5 years of experience in SQL Database Administration

3 years experience with Azure SQL Database

Experience with database administration including installations, patching, troubleshooting, and security both on prem and Azure environments

Experience with SQL Server Availability Group Oracle Database administration

Migration experience from on prem to Azure

Prior experience in the banking or financial industry null
