What is a Sr. Systems Administrator?

The Sr. Systems Administrator has a key role within the Clark-Reliance IT organization and is responsible for proactively managing our system and network infrastructure and cloud services. You will be responsible for providing technology leadership and ensuring the availability, performance, security, and scalability of our systems and applications. You will also oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software components as well as monitor overall performance and ensure security and compliance standards are met. 

 

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of proven experience as a systems administrator or a similar role. At least three years experience in two of the following areas; Windows server and PC operating systems, Configuring and managing Microsoft technologies including Office 365, Hybrid Azure Active Directory, OneDrive, and SharePoint or Networking protocols, firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs and wireless networks.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage and support Windows PC's and Servers, Backup technologies, Mobile Devices, Hybrid Azure Active Directory Environment, Exchange, Virtualization technology, Azure/Microsoft 365 and other cloud platforms.
  2. Manage and support network switches, firewalls, routers, VPNs and wireless access points
  3. Manage and support backup and recovery tools, End Point Detection and Response, and patch management.
  4. Perform other various system administration functions such as DNS changes, server permissions, server log management, email system administration, print queue management, web server support.
  5. Partner with third party service providers to support and manage servers, network, firewalls and cyber security services.
  6. Work with external Telecomm and Mobile vendors to manage and support VOIP phone system and mobile devices.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve problems with system configurations and hardware.
  8. Provide technical support and maintenance of I.T. systems.
  9. Manage and support an environment with 250 plus users across multiple locations.
  10. Automate administrative tasks to improve operational efficiency.
  11. Create and maintain standards and document technology setups, policies and processes.
  12. Maintain and manage asset lists and documentation.
  13. Researches, evaluates, and recommends software, hardware, and cloud technologies.
  14. Identifies process improvements and technologies.
  15. Interfaces with software, hardware and services vendors and internal accounting department to facilitate the purchase of hardware, software and services.
  16. Work independently as well as collaboratively with other IT staff, business functions and external vendors.
  17. Lead and coordinate small projects.
  18. Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers, and peers effectively.
  19. Comply with policies, procedures, standards, and rules of the Company.
  20. Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
  21. Maintain work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
  22. Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
  23. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
