Google Head of Design, Waze in Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel

Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience in product design and well-balanced across a range of design expertise.

  • Experience in leading and managing UX Design teams, with demonstrable impact on software product development processes and outcomes.

  • Experience working collaboratively in a technical environment with product managers, engineers, and key stakeholders such as Marketing and Go-to-Market teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in fast-growing consumer tech companies.

  • Experience leading design programs that enable and drive community engagement and participation.

  • Experience leading and managing cross disciplinary UX teams, like research, content/writing, etc.

  • Experience working across organizational and functional boundaries to prioritize opportunities and mitigate constraints.

  • Excellent product design portfolio, demonstrating clear insights, problem solving, and simple solutions.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen, frame problems, articulate positions, weigh alternatives, propose solutions, and influence decisions.

UX Design Managers are fierce advocates for the people who use our products as well as the members of their teams. They have a practiced eye for effective design, and are committed to creating elegantly simple user experiences from otherwise complex workflows.

In this role, you’ll take the time to understand not just the execution side of UX, but also the business aspects of the products we build. You’ll collaborate with leaders of other UX, Engineering, and Product Management teams to create innovative experiences across all of Google’s products, leveraging your passion for brand, craft, and design quality.

  • Advocate for our users in a dynamic, matrixed environment, leading day-to-day design initiatives that emphasize a user-centric approach integrating design, content, business, and engineering.

  • Develop and articulate a comprehensive UX vision and shepherd its implementation. Increase quality through systemic design methods, design thinking processes, data-driven decisions, and by example.

  • Ensure rigorous and scalable product decisions, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and GTM teams to prioritize and deliver optimal solutions globally

  • Provide strategic direction and mentorship to a team of UX Designers, fostering creative thinking across various product releases & platforms.

  • Implement and oversee UX process and operations to drive efficient product development that align with business and user needs while managing resources effectively.
