What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Consultant, Infrastructure Engineering (ITAM) you will provide in-depth advice and consultation on issues typically of an operational or tactical nature by investigating, analyzing, and providing an informed and independent opinion or recommendation on changes to procedures, adequacy of operational controls, risk assessment, and control activities. You’ll be responsible for the management and delivery of projects within the core of Business Controls and could include the management of work-packages for Enterprise-wide initiatives.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Risk and Business Knowledge – Must have strong understanding and knowledge of the Canadian financial services industry with a particular focus on the fundamentals of Regulatory and Operational Risk Management in our bank including experience with risk management functions (risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring) preferred.

  • Managing Multiple Priorities - Must have the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, projects, deliverables, or activities. Effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation.

  • Strong Influencing Skills – Must have well developed influential skills sufficient to resolve distinct differences of opinion or approach.

  • Critical Thinking - Ability to identify relationships and make links between disparate information and data. Must be inquisitive, resilient and results oriented. Able to quantify and qualify data in an easily understandable fashion.

  • Collaboration -You’ll partner with business stakeholders to understand initiatives and assess the adoption challenges. You’ll collaborate with business and technical partners to ensure timely delivery of solutions.

  • Solution planning and analysis - You’ll assess needs to drive optimal outcomes. You’ll seek feedback and obtain consensus from stakeholders for proposed solutions and updates. You’ll collaborate with partner teams and ensure that solutions further the business strategy. Applicant will be expected to take part in designing automation for engineering business processes.

  • Relationship management - Work with department heads and their respective management teams to ensure that effective business controls are in place to meet all of CIBC operating requirements relating to, but not limited to, CIBC Control Framework, Information Security, Corporate Mandatory Training and Testing (CMTT). Establish relationships with other stakeholders of the CIBC Control framework across the organization to facilitate communication and teamwork (e.g. Cloud Engineering & Transformation Governance Team, GORM, Compliance, Process Owners and Accountable Officers,)

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience in design, implementation and support of technologies and technology-based solutions dealing with operating system, middleware, and database. Minimum 3+ years of hands-on technical experience with ServiceNow® Discovery, including service mappings. Minimum 3+ years of hands-on working experience in data reporting with ServiceNow® CMDB, Asset Management, Service Catalogue, data reporting with ServiceNow® Incident/Problem/Change Management modules. Minimum 2+ years of working experience in performing audits of hardware, configuration items, as needed to maintain accuracy within the CMDB and monitoring/ managing expectations to CMDB polices.You have the knowledge and understanding of marketplace experience, developments, and trends. With the ability to elicit requirements and write strong documentation. Excellent abilities to manage stakeholders and manipulating/telling a story with data using MS Excel.
