Exciting Part-Time Opportunity: Communication & Events Manager Position Available

Part-Time Position: 32 hours per week

Compensation: $18/hour (includes mileage and phone allowances)

We are thrilled to announce an exciting part-time opportunity for a Communication & Events Manager at the Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. If you're passionate about communication, event management, and community engagement, this position is for you.

Job Duties:

  1. Communication Strategy:

- - Current publications include: Weekly Monday emails, Monthly Newsletters, pre- and post- event promotions, website calendar updates, website page updates, etc. - Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy for the chamber to ensure consistent and effective messaging. - Create and maintain a content calendar for various communication channels, including social media, email newsletters, website, and press releases. - Write, edit, and proofread content to ensure accuracy and alignment with the chamber's branding.

  1. Public Relations:

- - Cultivate relationships with local media outlets, journalists, and bloggers to promote the chamber's activities and member achievements. - Maintain social media platforms by answering questions, messages, etc.

  1. Member Engagement:

- - Collaborate with the Membership Manager to engage members through effective communication channels. - Promote member businesses, events, and success stories to highlight their contributions to the community. - Ensure MembershipWorks accounts are up-to-date - Process new and renewing member accounts

  1. Event Management:

- - Monthly events include: 1^st^ Friday Coffee Connect, 3^rd^ Thursday Coffee Connect, YPG, Healthcare Network Meetings, Spotlight Lunches, etc. - Plan, organize, and execute various chamber events, including networking mixers, educational seminars, ribbon-cutting ceremonies, and annual meetings. - Coordinate event logistics, such as venue selection, catering, and audiovisual equipment. - Maintain event registration lists and process payments related to event and sponsorships

  1. Event Promotion:

- - Create event marketing materials and promotional strategies to attract attendees. - Use various marketing channels to generate interest and registration for chamber events.

  1. Sponsorship Management:

- - Seek and manage event sponsorships to support event budgets and promote chamber partners. - Ensure sponsors receive proper recognition and benefits.

  1. Community Engagement:

- - Engage with local businesses, community organizations, and government agencies to foster positive relationships and promote chamber initiatives.

  1. Volunteer Coordination:

- - Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for events and communication projects. - Ensure a smooth and efficient operation during events.

  1. Data Analysis:

Collect and analyze data on communication and event performance.

Use analytics to make data-driven decisions and improve future strategies.
