The HRIPO Team is primarily responsible for all operational activities and project management support for the various HR functions. The HRIPO Sr. Team Manager will manage the Project Manager staff within the organization, across multiple geographies. This role will report to a Managing Director of the HRIPO.
As a leader of the HRIPO team, the Sr. Team Manager Role will focus on acquisition, retention and development of top talent through coaching, performance management, and employee engagement. This role may also lead complex projects leveraging the same project management industry best practices as the HRIPO Project Managers. The HRIPO Sr. Team Manager will communicate a clear direction for the team that will inspire and contribute to effective partnerships across HR.
What you’ll do:
Manage and develop a geographically dispersed team by: setting clear performance expectations, providing coaching & development, and evolving the team as the business evolves
Retain top talent through focus on employee engagement, creation of a positive work culture and a strong orientation to personal growth and development
Hold employees accountable for achievement of quantitative and qualitative measures
Communicate with a flexible and adaptable leadership style to best connect with others
Ensure end results of individual and team assignments are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit; ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters
Ensure and reinforce team usage of organizational standardized tools and resources to support project delivery
Support team in being accountable for and directly managing all aspects of the project life cycle for HR initiatives, including: defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering business, operational, product, program and information technology deliverables
Lead and/or support large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and partners
Establish organizational standardized tools and resources to support project delivery includes standardized project plan
Using a consultative and strategic partner approach to ensure delivery of HR initiatives that provides transparency and effective communication to project stakeholders
Ability to effectively communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verballyUnderstands the entire portfolio of HR projects, their alignment to the broader business strategy, and implications to HR resources. Works with business partner to elicit and document requirements as needed
Helps business stakeholders envision the future and how their work will need to change to support the future
Influences Testing Strategies for complex enterprise initiatives and lead test execution as needed. Participates in user acceptance testing and testing of new functionality. Facilitates testing issue resolution
What you have:
Minimum of 8 years project management experience
Minimum of 3 years people leader experience
Minimum 3 years directing process engineering activities
Minimum 3 years of business analysis experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equilivant work experience in the PM specialty is preferred
Requires broad cross-functional and business stakeholder influence, consulting skills and in-depth knowledge of Project Management disciplines. Scope and influence extends beyond immediate team to impact HR broadly via creative and effective solutions to address near term issues and opportunities for longer term strategic outcomes.
Requires a track record of leadership success and experience with influencing, coaching, and providing feedback to staff to provide an exceptional project management experience to key stakeholders. Demonstrated track record in attracting and developing employees to their highest potential.
Skilled in coaching and developing people at all performance levels via established performance objectives, consistent feedback, and appropriate recognition. Ability to mobilize and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict and deliver tough messages.
Strong critical thinking and decision making skills in order to apply sound judgment on a daily basis; ability to think strategically and analyze a variety of factors and metrics when making global decisions for the department.
Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management tools supporting the organization’s defined Project Management methodology. Ability to oversee multiple large, complex and cross functional projects, with emphasis on program delivery, business process implementation, product and program development, systems, and technical environments.
Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders. Ability to mobilize project constituencies, set direction and approach, and resolve conflict.
Ability to effectively execute and navigate with limited information and ambiguity in a matrixed organization.
