Our Opportunity:

The Technology Infrastructure Services (TIS) Business Management team is responsible for developing internal strategic initiatives to support the broader infrastructure platform in the areas of Demand Management, Application Total Cost of Ownership, Annual Operating Plans, and metrics /reporting. The TIS Business Management team is seeking an inquisitive Staff Business Analyst to analyze operational and financial data to help understand the true drivers of demand, will provide recommendations for optimizing unit costs, will help create cost models for top infrastructure services, will help reduce technical debt, and provide other decision models for the infrastructure teams. These duties will include analyzing large data sets, combining various sources of record (both financial and operational), confirming completeness and scope/accuracy of data, developing strategic data models and providing recommendations. Candidate must have experience with various hosting compute domains, operating systems, database functionality, data management concepts, and great communication, planning and presentation skills. This position will work closely with domain owners and tool/report authors to understand the requirements, build decision models, investigate and improve data quality for source records and present their findings back to senior leadership. This position will have an opportunity to interact with senior leadership within the Infrastructure team and should be able to traverse all areas of decision models (from the deep technical, data level to the higher/strategic level for senior management).

What you’ll do:

The Staff Business Analyst of the TIS Business Management team will analyze operational and financial data, and provide insight to senior infrastructure leadership. The business analyst will work with highly confidential data to understand what activities are driving the majority of our team’s workload and how to optimize that workload. The analyst will also develop technology cost models for top infrastructure services. This work dovetails into Application Total Cost of Ownership and Capacity Planning as we develop reporting to provide line of site into “who” is using “what” infrastructure, “how” much it costs our teams to manage that infrastructure and compare that to utilization. We will develop reporting which will expose the cost value tradeoffs and highlight key areas of decision making.

What you have:

  • Ability to analyze large, complicated data sets to draw meaningful conclusions

  • Exceptional problem solving skills and an intense desire to get to the bottom of the data, ask the 5 whys, and present findings to senior leadership

  • Good analytical, communication and presentation skills

  • Comfortable with working with various levels of management, and a wide variety of technologies and technologists

  • An understanding of hosting technologies such as operating systems (Linux, Microsoft, Solaris, AIX etc.), database technologies (SQL, Oracle, DB2 and Mongo DB), Mainframe technologies, and storage technologies (SAN and NAS)

  • Must have 2 or more years of information technology experience and an advanced graduate degree. Preference given to candidates who have studied Business Analytics or Technology Business Management
