St. Mary's Healthcare Executive Director of Foundation Development in Amsterdam, New York

Job Requisition: REQ2781 Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Days Hours Per Week: 40 hours

Hiring Range : $ 42.52 -$ 61.49

The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Responsibilities: • Collaborates with executive leadership and the Foundation Board and oversees the design, development, and execution of a comprehensive development strategy that guides the priorities of the Foundation.

• Develops, recommends, and administers policies and procedures in support of Foundation, goals and operations, while ensuring compliance with all legal parameters and Board by-laws to include gift agreements, named space commitments, endowed fund reporting, pledge reminders and gift receipts.

• In collaboration with the Finance Department, prepares an annual operating budget and fundraising targets; adheres to allocated funding requirements; and coordinates internal/external audits. Provides periodic updates on the status of Foundation activities.

• Develops and implements an annual fundraising plan with measurable objectives to best support the Hospital's strategic plan and operating objectives. Included in this is oversight of database management, donor acknowledgment and internal and external communication.

• Supports the Foundation Board and designated Board committee operations; develops agendas; provides applicable documentation; facilitates meetings and maintains minutes.

• Identifies and researches major donor prospects; maintains active portfolio of donor prospects; and actively engages in personal outreach, relationship development, solicitation, and stewarship

• Works collaboratively with the hospital’s President and CEO and the Marketing Department to ensure that the Hospital is appropriately represented at community functions and events to best position Hospital for appropriate heightened visibility. Actively participates and is highly visible across all Hospital service areas.

• In collaboration with Human Resources, provides leadership and effectively manages personnel processes related to the Foundation.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Fundraising. Business Administration, or related field required.

• Master's degree in a related field highly preferred.

• A minimum of three (3) years of professional level fundraising experience required, preferably at a leadership level and in a healthcare setting.

• CFRE certification preferred.

• Prior experience with or exposure to Board of Directors relations preferred.

• Experience in strategic planning and implementation.

• Exceptional executive and leadership presence with the demonstrated ability to forge cross-functional partnerships both internally and externally.

• Strong proclivity for and demonstration of analytics/metrics.

• Working knowledge of MS Office, and ERP systems.

• Strong aptitude in communicating and public speaking.

• Well-organized with excellent leadership qualities.
