Ohio University Social Media Coordinator (University) in Athens, Ohio
Job Description:
Reporting to the Senior Manager of University Social Media, the Social Media Coordinator creates and posts day-to-day social media content on the following channels: main institutional, Alumni Association, Student Affairs and Diversity & Inclusion. This position will organize and populate the content calendar for their respective social media channels. They will take ownership of the social posting process, including copywriting, gathering and/or creating assets (photo, video, website, graphics, etc.), ensuring digital accessibility and OHIO brand guidelines and creating social media posts. Using Sprout Social, monitor day-to-day conversations and interactions with our audiences, including direct messages and questions.
This position is located in Athens, Ohio. May occasionally work outside of normal office hours for on-campus activities, programming, etc., on an as-needed basis.

Professional written and interpersonal skills
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field
Experience in social media content curation for a company or organization
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with social media management tools, such as Sprout Social or Hootsuite
Experience analyzing social media data metrics
Familiarity with digital accessibility
Experience creating visual assets for social media campaigns – ex: photo, video, website, graphics, etc.
Prior experience working in the higher education field

Advertised Salary:
Target hiring range for this role is $16.84 to $21.48 per hour. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience in relation to the minimum qualifications for the position, while also considering internal equity.
