Overview

The Financial Analyst II is a key contributor to the financial management and decision-making processes within the organization. This role involves in-depth financial analysis, strategic planning, and collaboration with various departments to ensure financial objectives are met. Additionally, in this role, you will oversee Vizient's Operational Database (ODB) tool, previously known as Action OI.You will utilize the ODB to enhance decision-making and optimize operational processes within the organization by identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in various aspects of hospital operations including employee productivity, supply chain management, cost reduction initiatives, and quality improvement efforts. You will be responsible for submitting, analyzing, and interpreting data from the ODB to generate actionable insights and recommendations while collaborating cross-functionally across departments to implement strategies based on insights derived from the data. You will serve as the primary point of contact for the ODB while promoting a culture of continuous improvement through regular collaboration and knowledge sharing sessions across the enterprise.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 2 years in financial planning and analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in finance, healthcare or analytics preferred.

  • Experience in healthcare finance, decision support analysis, or healthcare consulting focused on data analysis required.

  • Solid working knowledge of healthcare terminology, charge master/billing practices, general ledger data, payroll data, and hospital operations required.

  • Excellent attention to detail with analytical ability to gather, organize, interpret data, and identify discrepancies required.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams required.

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, advanced logic such as nested "if" statements, MS Access and Power Point required.

  • Experience working efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy required.

  • Experience with healthcare labor productivity measuring and reporting preferred.

  • Experience with SQL and database query languages is highly preferred.

  • Experience with data modeling, normalization, and optimization techniques preferred.

  • Experience with Vizient Operational Data Base (ODB) or Action OI is highly preferred.

Salary Min: $28.87/hr, Salary Mid: $38.25/hr

Description

  • Oversee Vizient's Operational Database (ODB) tool, previously known as Action OI.

  • Provide guidance on submitting data in accordance with the definitions outlined in the Department Reference Manual (DRM), ensuring timeliness and accuracy.

  • Perform data collection, interpretation, and analysis for productivity benchmarking initiatives.

  • Serve as primary point of contact for the ODB by creating a conducive environment promoting education and trust.

  • Lead the developmentof annual budgets and long-term financial plans.

  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic initiatives.

  • Analyze the financial impact of proposed projects or changes in business strategies.

  • Play a central role in the forecasting process, working closely with senior management.

  • Provide accurate and timely financial forecasts based on industry trends and organizational goals.

  • Lead cost-benefit analysis for major projects and initiatives.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.

  • Provide financial insights to support decision-making by senior management.

  • Collaborate with department heads to analyze financial implications of various business strategies.

  • Oversee the preparation of detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the development of the organization's strategic financial goals.

  • Participate in strategic planning sessions and provide financial perspectives.

  • Utilize advanced data analysis tools and techniques to extract actionable insights.

  • Present findings to management in a clear and understandable manner.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and insights.

  • Work closely with accounting and other departments to ensure financial accuracy.
