Our Opportunity:

The Consultative, Agile, Solutions Engineering Team delivers an end to end, in-house, request to rollout experience for Charles Schwab employees. Using state of the art BI platforms and the MSDN suite, we create code-lite and codeless solutions that enable our partners, business or technology, a greater sense of empowerment, responsibility, and ownership that is otherwise difficult to find in large companies. We are seeking to hire a driven, self-starting Associate with a Computer Science background that has a fiery passion for technology, innovation, and challenging the status quo. Under the direction of the rest of the collective team, you will be supporting the CASE team as an associate engineer that’s eager to learn that there is a new way to do traditional IT, exceeding the expectations of our partners, time and time again. Our team’s main objective is to realize the idea and vision of any Schwab employee that knows the “what” but needs help executing on the “how”. This means what you’re solutioning, and creating, will change week to week.

What you’ll do:

As an Associate Developer, you will be responsible for working with the team to ideate on creative solutions, providing ongoing support, and deploying ongoing enhancements to the suite of tools internally developed for Advisor Services Technology and Advisor Services Business. While traditional IT requires a background that’s suited to be an order taker of requirements and deliverables, CASE engineers also satisfy the need for innovative thinkers who can architect creative solutions and also identify opportunities for new tools, processes, and systems across AST and our partners. At its core, the role of a CASE team member is being responsible for integrating differentiated systems, collaborating with staff to develop and deploy new tools, and implementing improvements to drive operational efficiencies.

What you have:

  • Desire to work on integrating differentiated systems with few or no relational variables

  • Exposure to trending BI technologies such as Alteryx, Informatica, Lavastorm

  • Demonstrated capabilities with trending data viz technologies such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik

  • Experience with .NET framework

  • Practical understanding of capabilities with SQL, Teradata, Oracle

  • Ability to work in an agile environment, leveraging the Agile framework

  • Ability to present work to engineers (detailed solutions) and executives (high level value)

  • Interest in REST and the Web Services space

  • Must be self-motivated, creative, and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems

  • College Degree or applied experience in the Computer Science or Managed Information Systems Field
