The University of Maryland, Baltimore, School of Nursingis currently recruiting for aManager, Student Scholarships and Grants *to support the Office of Student and Academic Services (OSAS). This position is responsible for managing the business functions for the student scholarships area of Admissions & Student Scholarships in the Office of Student and Academic Services. This position will support the achievement of student educational goals through three main objectives: providing counseling designed to help students structure their student portfolio in a way that supports their attainment of their educational goals, providing prospective students a realistic picture of their financial outlook prior to enrolling in our programs, and ensuring that scholarships are administered and processed timely. Exempt regular staff receive a generous leave package that includes over 4 weeks of vacation accrued each year, paid holidays, unlimited accrual of sick time, and comprehensive health insurance; professional learning and development programs; tuition remission for employees and their dependents at any University System of Maryland school; and flexible work schedules and teleworking options (if applicable per job). *PRIMARY DUTIES: * Develop and manage scholarship strategy including determining eligibility criteria, application process, managing deadlines, and advising on appropriate scholarship awards for each student,along with the offices of Administrative Services and Development and Alumni Relations. * Reconcile and monitor the ongoing status of donor funds in conjunction with offices of Administrative Services, and Development and Alumni Relations.  * Assist students in all aspects of student financial planning and debt counseling programs. * Serve as the school’s primary contact withUniversity Student Financial Assistance Office, coordinating the disbursement of school scholarship funds and assisting with student concerns. * Understand and be able to communicate to students the complex policies and procedures relating to scholarships and federal aid. * Perform other duties as assigned. Education: Bachelor’s degree. Experience: *Three (3) years of experience in student enrollment, including admissions, financial aid or financial planning administration or a related field. Experience in financial aid scholarships and a higher education school setting preferred. *Preferred Supervisory Experience:Two (2) years of experience in work coordination or direct supervision. Other: Related experience may be substituted for education. Clery act designated job as campus security authorities (CSA) member and will comply with Clery Act requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently.
