Amazon Business Intelligence Engineer, ACES Analytics in Bellevue, Washington

ACES Analytics is looking for a talented Business Intelligence Engineer who will own analytics and develop solutions to drive insights and optimization for driving Performance improvements. As a member of this team, you will have an opportunity to be a thought leader in Amazon Sort Centers and work with a group of talented program managers, product managers, operations, and business leaders to design the Amazon network of the future. This position requires superior analytical thinking, ability to quickly approach large ambiguous problems and apply analytics, technical and engineering expertise to rapidly analyze, validate, visualize, prototype and deliver solutions. This position also requires significant cross functional activity and integration with transportation, tech, operations and finance. Successful candidates must thrive in a fast paced environment.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, highly analytical, innovative, hands-on, technically skilled, and customer-obsessed analyst who will help in developing best-in-class solutions for the middle mile network, to deliver high quality customer experiences while minimizing cost and improving fulfillment speed. This role will require the candidate to work cross functionally and understand the long term requirements of the all programs that leverage the sort centers. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills and the ability to thrive in ambiguous situations.

Key job responsibilities

• Taking the lead on the design, implementation, and delivery of BI solutions in a highly ambiguous and significantly complex problem space that have a long-term impact on a business, organization, or technology.

• Provide data management processes such as accessing raw data feeds, building queries and macros, organizing data and designing reports that present status-at-a-glance visualization for business performance.

• Retrieving and analyzing large sets of data using Excel, SQL, and other data management systems.

• Strong quantitative skills to develop reporting mechanisms to deliver strategic insights

• Collaborating with multiple stakeholders within ATS NASC team to drive solutions that will have a tangible impact to the business.

• Designing and implementing reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.

• Taking ownership of reporting processes to ensure that each report is accurate and timely with a high degree of customer focus in resolving data discrepancies.

• Building and managing related key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure, control, and benchmark reporting processes.

• Monitoring existent metrics, building new metrics, and partnering with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities.

• Innovating to improve customer experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Knowledge of advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools (familiarity with Tableau preferred)

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field

  • 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
