What you'll do in your role. Serve as lead attorney providing legal advice to multiple sophisticated business units about offers and promotions, product and service launches, signature campaigns, and consumer-facing materials. Serve as trusted advisor for several specialty areas such as consumer protection, pricing, endorsements & testimonials, and industry requirements. Advise senior leaders on a broad range of strategic legal and business matters, assessing legal risk and short-term tradeoffs in the context of broader strategic imperatives. Drive departmental initiatives from inception to completion, including the development or redesign of legal support processes to increase efficiencies and better align to the needs of the business. Successfully manage and lead a small team of legal professionals. Elevate key issues to executives via succinct and compelling oral and written communications. Engage and manage outside counsel relationships. The experience you'll bring. 10+ years of experience as a business or litigation attorney, with top law firm and/or relevant in-house experience 2+ years' experience supervising others' work, including providing effective feedback and supporting growth and development. Current bar membership (in good standing) in at least one U.S. state; eligibility for admission to Washington or Kansas bar JD from accredited university with outstanding academic credentials Demonstrated ability to lead highly complex projects and other high impact initiatives and navigate ambiguity. Ability to interact with senior management with strong executive maturity. Excellent and succinct written and oral communication skills A demonstrated ability to collaborate with other legal and business professionals in a complex organization
