As a technical leader within FBA, you will be able to show your passion for customers and disrupt the world of e-commerce by building and delivering systems at Amazon scale. You will lead projects that require creative thinking and deep understanding of the problem space while collaborating on product decisions with the product teams. Key job responsibilities

  • You will provide technical leadership to our engineering team and work closely with engineering and product leaders to deliver the best-in-class solutions to our customers

  • You will solve ambiguous business problems and map them to elegant technical solutions

  • Create long-term vision and growth plans, collaborating with other leaders in the Science and Engineering orgs

  • Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments, manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team.

  • Engage and build relationships with other teams across Amazon to evangelize teams product and vision.

About the team

The Inventory Authority Reconciliation (IAR) aims to understand, rectify and ultimately help prevent the various discrepancies occurring in the continuously evolving Amazon supply chain. It leverages the discrepancy visibility from IAP (Inventory Authority Platform), together with various other context data to attempt to understand what went wrong resulting in IAP's discrepancies, take appropriate actions if it determines to be justified. IAR aims to be the central reconciliation engine for both FBA and Retail inventory data.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Bellevue, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience

  • 7+ years of engineering experience

  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $148,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
