The opportunity:

For this highly challenging and well rewarding job opportunity, we are currently looking for self-motivated and skilled engineers with fair amount of systems knowledge to work in the Database Cloud Services team in India. This person would be involved in architecting, designing, prototyping and developing the various aspects of the database-as-a-service platform.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in software development with at least 2 years in cloud technologies building IaaS or PaaS solutions using Rest APIs.

  • Strong programming skills with Python (very much preferred) or Java

  • Knowledge of Database management systems, Microservices and Virtualisation technologies

  • Agile development

  • Excellent communication skills

Additional skills that would be a strong plus:

  • Knowledge of Operating System internals, Database internals

  • Experience with/understanding of multi-tenancy, CI/CD, cloud security, telemetry and service level availability

Responsibilities

Oracle’s Database Cloud Services team designs, develops, deploys and manages the database-as-a-service platform that drives Oracle's Database, Engineered Systems, Oracle Public Cloud, Oracle PaaS and SaaS offerings.

This platform development team is a provider of public cloud database and infrastructure management software and helps companies manage platform resources to deliver service, quality and availability, as well as workloads in private and hybrid cloud environments.

Some of the mission critical deliverables from this team are:

  • The Service frameworks to host Oracle Database in OCI Public cloud

  • Life-cycle management framework for the various database services

  • Monitoring and reporting framework which would detect any security or operational issues and alert operations and recommend remediations

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to transformational projects to deliver scalable, extensible and differentiated Database-as-a-Service on the Cloud

  • Work closely with senior developers and architects as well as Product Management, IT and Operations teams for architecting, designing and developing Database Cloud Service solutions

  • Work with Oracle cloud product (OCI) teams to define requirements and tightly integrate DB with the Cloud Platform to deliver a high quality and performant database-as-a-service

  • Employ agile development skills and continuously deliver parts of the overall solution to enhance customer experience and confidence

  • Use the product development knowledge and expertise to resolve customer issues as and when needed.
