Job Description Summary

As a Senior Manager DevOps, you will be responsible for recruitment, talent development, skill set improvements, mentoring, process stewardship, and delivery of clinical solutions as part of the Patient Care Solutions(PCS)- Digital Eco System. In this role, you will be part of PCS Digital group focusing on DevSecOps and public cloud, working with engineering counter parts to deliver the needs for customers.

Here you will play a critical role in leading our DevOps team to establish and maintain efficient development and operations processes. You will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of DevOps practices, tools, and methodologies to facilitate continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of software products. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering collaboration between development and operations teams, driving automation, and optimizing the software development lifecycle., and proven processes to lead a team developing solutions that advance healthcare.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Senior Manager - DevOps, you will be responsible for:

  • Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting skill development and career growth.

  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring alignment with team and organizational objectives.

  • DevOps Strategy and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement DevOps strategies, processes, and best practices to streamline development, testing, and deployment workflows.

  • Collaborate with development, operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle.

  • Champion the adoption of automation tools and technologies to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

  • Continuous Integration and Delivery:

  • Establish and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines to enable continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).

  • Monitor and optimize CI/CD pipelines to minimize build and deployment times and ensure code quality and reliability.

  • Implement practices for automated testing, code reviews, and quality assurance to accelerate the release cycle and reduce risks.

  • Infrastructure Management and Automation:

  • Oversee the management of infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate the provisioning, configuration, and deployment of infrastructure resources.

  • Implement and manage cloud infrastructure services and platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure compliance with policies, standards, and best practices.

  • Monitoring and Performance Optimization:

  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions to track system performance, identify issues, and facilitate proactive troubleshooting.

  • Analyze system metrics and performance data to optimize resource utilization, improve scalability, and enhance reliability.

  • Respond to incidents and outages promptly, coordinating with relevant teams to minimize downtime and mitigate risks.

  • Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Identify security risks and vulnerabilities in software and infrastructure components, implementing appropriate controls and mitigations.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to software development and operations.

  • Implement robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical data and systems.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience as individual contributor role (DevOps/SRE/Operations).

  • A minimum of 4-6 years of experience of management and demonstrated competency in providing leadership and coaching to direct reports

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency in DevOps practices, methodologies, and tools, such as CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and containerization.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

  • Strong knowledge on Unix based operating systems & workload management and networking systems.

  • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack, Splunk).

  • Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or equivalent are a plus.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in BDD/ TDD practices, Enterprise Architecture, architecture/design patterns, Cloud/Fog computing (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)

  • AWS Experience is a plus.

  • Experience driving activities to influence code quality and process rigor along with OpenStack technologies, deployment and configuration best practices

  • Healthcare domain exposure is a plus.

  • Enthusiastically follow technology trends, software engineering best practice and technologies while enjoying the challenge of solving complex problems.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
