Aston Carter Production Planner in Bonita Springs, Florida

Description:

The production planner will be responsible for:

  • Material Requirements Planning (MRP)

  • Evaluates material requirements planning (MRP) output of "New" suggestions.

  • Evaluates material requirements planning (MRP) output of "Change" (expedite/postpone/cancel) suggestions.

Job Creation and Maintenance

  • Executes job creation in enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for production, rework, and prototype orders. Ensures all necessary fields are properly populated.

  • Assigns alternate methods of manufacturing (MoM) based on material and/or resource availability.

  • Compiles semi-finished good job packets. Confirms that all documents provided within the device history record (DHR) are approved and remain consistent across all files for part number, drawing, and revision.

  • Promptly communicates, addresses, and resolves any documentation issues to minimize delays in production.

  • Maintains data integrity of jobs in accordance with material requirements planning (MRP) suggestions. This includes maintenance of accurate job quantities and due dates to ensure production and customer deadlines are met.

Transfer Order Creation and Maintenance

  • Creates transfer orders for site-to-site transactions in enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

  • Maintains data integrity of transfer orders in accordance with material requirements planning (MRP) suggestions. This includes maintenance of accurate transfer order quantities and due dates to ensure production and customer deadlines are met.

Scheduling and Fulfillment

  • Schedules jobs to promote efficiency and maintain on-time delivery to the customer. Plans based on previously established operation sequences and queue, cycle, and lead times.

  • Schedules changeovers based on remaining demand and capacity. Promptly informs relevant departments of any significant changes.

  • Anticipates future capacity concerns and utilizes production smoothing to balance upcoming demand.

  • Identifies and communicates priorities proactively. Works with multiple departments to communicate urgency.

  • Actively tracks status of priorities and works with relevant departments to adjust schedules and expedite critical orders.

  • Escalates constraints and delays that cause risks to customer on time delivery (OTD). These could be related to material, equipment, labor, quality, subcontractor delays, unforeseen changes, etc.

Reporting - Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Planning tools

  • Utilizes Excel to compile various reports that support planning processes. Distributes status and performance reports to management in a regular and timely manner and develops action plans with cross functional teams when trends require adjustments.

  • Partners with team to develop new and continuously improve existing reports. Ensures that the required information is efficiently generated and displayed in an accurate and comprehensive manner.

  • Partners with team to gather inputs from various sources, analyze information, and develop the outputs for recurring processes/reviews and ad-hoc requests.

Cross-Functional Meeting Facilitation

  • Leads weekly Production Review meetings. Communicates clearly and courteously with various stakeholders. Listens effectively and proposes optimal solutions.

System Management – ERP

  • Promptly communicates, addresses, and resolves any enterprise resource planning (ERP) system data issues to minimize delays in production.

  • Continuously improves enterprise resource planning (ERP) system in collaboration with the Business Systems group to optimize planning & scheduling.

  • Ensures enterprise resource planning (ERP) data integrity and coordinates Planning master data updates (lot sizing, lead times, forecasts, planner assignment, default source, etc).

Standard Work

  • Develops new and continuously improves existing planning processes to increase efficiency, reliability, productivity, and on-time delivery from current benchmarks.

  • Develops new and maintains existing documentation; standard operating procedures (SOPs), standard work instructions (SWIs), job aids.

Quality Processes

  • Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) in quality processes such as change control, deviations, return material authorization (RMA), and nonconformance (NC) processes. Holds the team accountable to the process.

  • Completes tasks assigned as an output of quality processes such as change control, deviations, return material authorization (RMA), and nonconformance (NC) processes.

  • Actively works to support the development of peers to promote a comprehensive understanding of various functions throughout the Planning team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working in a manufacturing, production, and/or warehousing environment.

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications; Outlook, TEAMs, PowerPoint. Intermediate to Advanced in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, queries, etc).

  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system software; EPICOR a plus.

  • Sound knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP).

  • Well-developed knowledge of planning principles and practices.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred, or experience in lieu of degree.

  • Participation in ongoing learning and development opportunities is highly encouraged. Examples include ASCM Foundations of Supply Chain Management, ASCM Supply Chain Planning Certificate, ASCM CPIM, ASCM CSCP.
