HR Coordinator (aHEO)
GENERAL DUTIES
Provides information and services to the College community to support the Human Resources function.
Prepares and executes various personnel transactions involving employee recordkeeping, processing of new hires, pay administration, and recruiting
Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to human resources
Organizes and processes employee information; develops and maintains reports and queries; assures data accuracy and completeness
Responds to requests for information; troubleshoots issues, follows up and responds to employee inquiries
Assists HR managers with employee communications of all kinds; may prepare materials, conduct orientation sessions, or update web pages
Performs related duties as assigned.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The HR Coordinator will report directly to the HR Specialist and assist with the day-to-day operations. In addition to the
duties described in the CUNY title overview, the HR Coordinator is responsible for the following:
• HR point person for the onboarding processes of all part-time employees, new-hire orientations, and audits for
accuracy, I-9 compliance, and ensuring all records are up to date
• Provides information to hiring managers regarding process and procedures
• Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations and collective bargaining agreements relevant to
human resources
• Administrative and paperwork oversight both electronic and paper files
• Assist with the daily data input of position management related to hires, reappointments, revisions, and
separations for hourly staff
• Troubleshoot any CUNYfirst issues and make corrections as necessary
• Keep up to date on current issues and matters related to HR
• Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Excellent judgment, strong communication and people skills
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion with regard to all matters, data, and documents
• Detailed oriented, self-directed, motivated and proactive
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking aptitude
• Familiar with CUNY’s collective bargaining agreements for white-collar titles and psc staff is preferred.
COMPENSATION
$68,245 -$70,541
BENEFITS
CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification. Employees are also offered pension and Tax-Deferred Savings Plans. Part-time employees must meet a weekly or semester work hour criteria to be eligible for health benefits. Health benefits are also extended to retirees who meet the eligibility criteria.
