Compensation:

Associate Transit Management Analyst: $86,565 - $112,083

Assistant Transit Management Analyst Level II: $76,577 - $85,288

Assistant Transit Management Analyst Level I: $65,954 - $78,079

Responsibilities:

The Department of Subways is seeking a motivated candidate to join the Expense Analysis team within Operations Support, Finance to work on data analysis and business process improvement projects to support the operating divisions (Service Delivery, Stations, Maintenance of Way, and Car Equipment). The selected candidate will perform the following functions: Develop budget proposals and construct analytic plans to evaluate requests for Operating and Capital funding. Monitor spending against budget and perform forecasting of expenses.

Education and Experience:

Assistant Transit Management Analyst I and II:

  1. A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the following areas whereby:

  2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "1" above.

    Associate Transit Management Analyst:

  3. A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and two years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports. One year of experience must have been in the transportation industry; or

  4. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and three years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above. One year of this experience must have been in the transportation industry.

    Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of NYCT Department of Subways.

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Access, Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Teams)

  • Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.

    Selection Method:

    Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

    All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
