Description We are in search of a Controller to join our team in Burnsville, Minnesota. This role involves overseeing financial operations in the education-based nonprofit sector. The Controller will be instrumental in managing financial reconciliations, overseeing GAAP Accounting practices, and conducting financial audits. This role provides an exciting opportunity for career progression with the potential to ascend to the position of Director of Finance.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of financial management, including financial systems, budgeting, and audits

• Ensure compliance with GAAP Accounting principles and company policies

• Conduct regular financial reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data

• Manage relationships with nonprofit organizations, ensuring financial transparency and accountability

• Develop and implement financial control procedures and systems

• Manage financial audits, identifying any areas of concern and implementing corrective actions

• Oversee the preparation of timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis

• Develop strategies to improve financial performance and lead cost-saving initiatives

• Collaborate with other team members to manage financial operations and make decisions on resource allocation

• Proactively keep up-to-date with current regulations, best practices, and industry trends. Requirements • Must have at least 5 years of experience as a Controller or in a similar role

• Extensive knowledge of GAAP Accounting is required

• Prior work experience with Nonprofit Organizations is highly desirable

• Proficiency in conducting Audits, including Financial Audits, is necessary

• Experience in performing Reconciliations is a must

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

• Proficient in using financial software and MS Office

• Ability to strategize and solve problems

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner

• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
