Waste Connections Business Systems Analyst – Admin in Calgary, Alberta
Job Purpose
The Business Systems Analyst/Admin is responsible for the administration, security, support, and enhancement of R360 Canada’s financial, business and field data capture applications. The scope of the role focuses on being the primary support contact for application incident management, root cause analysis and problem resolution, while also performing business analysis activities, functional configurations, testing and troubleshooting. The incumbent will interact with business application users and support teams to help with the change management of upgrades and enhancements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Provide ongoing administration, security and quality assurance support for enterprise, financial and field data capture applications
Interact with application users on issues that require investigation, coordinate with other IT groups or consultants to diagnose, and resolve incidents
Document resolutions in knowledge base and provide documentation to the IT Help Desk to assist with tier 1 incident resolution
Monitor performance of D365 Finance & Operations and the Truck Ticketing application using LCS & App Insights
Maintain and troubleshoot DevOps deployment, participate & coordinate Microsoft upgrades and QA testing efforts.
Monitor and support integrations for business and third-party applications, liaise with Infrastructure teams to troubleshoot network or server related issues
Coordinate code and database changes to application environments (DEV, UAT, QA, & PROD) following change management procedures
Action D365 user requests ensuring proper approval documentation for access and security, audit inactive and unused accounts within supported applications
Assist with projects and analysis of upgrades and enhancements for D365 Finance & Operations and Truck Ticketing app.
Support the document attachment process which includes printer/scanner quality and third-party software, ensuring attachment to sales lines and invoices.
Qualifications/Competencies
The successful candidate will have:
University or college degree in Computer Science or related discipline
5+ years of work experience with administration of applications including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations
Experience with LCS management, D365 development, DevOps and PowerApps related to FO
Experience in Finance, Supply Chain Management, Projects, Reporting and Integrations
MS Certifications would be considered assets
Experience with support management, issue, and project management software
Highly self-motivated and directed, keen attention to detail, rapidly acquires new knowledge and learns new skills
Exceptional communication and leadership skills; presentation, verbal and writing skills
Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Excellent understanding of process mapping techniques, define business requirements and translate into functional specifications
Ability to quantify solution impact and communicate proposed project benefits
Demonstrated knowledge of both traditional Waterfall and Agile/Lean methodologies
Works well with others and has strong relationship building and relationship management skills
Knowledge of Oil and Gas Midstream operations is preferred
