R1 RCM Principal Engineer - IT in Chennai, India

This role will work under our Mgr Architect Enterprise to implement complex tasks and projects. These items will primarily be related to transforming Enterprise IT and M&A activity, allowing us to save money by consolidating tenants and work on projects to improve security and user experience., as well as completing M&A activity like Acclara Migration and shutting down legacy Infrastructure like Cloudmed to save money.

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic Microsoft 365 senior engineer who will be responsible for planning, executing, and validating the migration of an organization's data and applications to Microsoft 365 cloud platform from Cross Tenant and legacy systems. The engineer works closely with the IT team, the business stakeholders, and the Microsoft support team to ensure a smooth and successful migration process. Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft Office 365 solutions for an organization. Additional focus will be on improving efficiency and user experience, optimizing, and enhancing security, utilizing technical expertise and experience in driving design and automation of processes to support continuous Delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the current state of the organization's IT infrastructure and identify the migration scope, risks, and dependencies.

  • Design and implement a migration strategy that minimizes the impact on the business operations and meets the security and compliance requirements.

  • Designing and implementing Office 365 solutions, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Teams.

  • Plan and execute Microsoft 365 migrations, upgrades, and integrations with other systems and platforms.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to end users and administrators on Microsoft 365 features and functionalities.

  • Collaborating with other IT teams to integrate Office 365 with other systems and applications.

  • Analyzing the overall enterprise environment to find gaps and can think outside-of-the-box in order to design and create functionality which will prove to be of value.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams and vendors to ensure alignment and compatibility of Microsoft 365 solutions with business requirements and objectives.

  • Configure and deploy the Microsoft 365 services and features, such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and Intune.

  • Migrate the Identity, data, and applications from one tenant to another Microsoft 365 Tenant using various tools and methods, such as Cross-Teant mailbox / SharePoint, and third-party solutions.

  • Perform testing and validation to ensure the functionality and integrity of the migrated data and applications.

  • Provide post-migration support and troubleshooting to resolve any issues and ensure user satisfaction.

  • Document the migration process, procedures, best practices, and outcomes and ensuring knowledge transfer and efficient collaboration within the team.

  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate migration related task and workflows, including provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting, with a focus on enhancing efficiency and user productivity.

  • Staying up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the desktop management space, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • At least 9 years of experience in Microsoft 365 Suites, Microsoft Directory services, and data migration projects.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 services and features, as well as the migration tools and methods.

  • Understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Privileged Identity Management concepts

  • Experience with Azure AD roles and Conditional Access policies, MFA, and related administration skills

  • Help team members with your expertise to achieve common goals.

  • Proficient in PowerShell scripting and Exchange online, SharePoint Online and Entra ID administration.

  • Certification in Microsoft 365 Fundamentals or Microsoft 365 Administrator is preferred.

  • Solid understanding of Intune MDM/MAM, On-Prem Active Directly, Group Policies concepts.

  • Knowledge of Defender for Office 365, Microsoft Security and Compliance and best practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze directory and M365 services logs and derive meaningful insights.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and executive levels.

  • Proactive mindset with a keen sense of ownership and the ability to work independently to drive initiatives forward.
