We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Procurement professional to join our organization. As a member of the Procurement team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our contractual agreements with assigned suppliers, ensuring compliance, minimizing risks, and maximizing opportunities. Your expertise in contract negotiation, drafting, and administration will be essential in maintaining successful business relationships and protecting the company’s interests.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Contract Execution and Management: Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company policies. Review, draft, and negotiate various contracts, including vendor agreements, amendments, terminations, and other similar documents., ensuring contracts are inclusive of terms that are most beneficial to CIBA and at the most favorable price possible.

  • Contract Renewals and Amendments: Manage contract renewals, extensions, and amendments in a timely manner. Assess contract performance and propose modifications, as necessary, to meet evolving business needs. Revisit and negotiate favorable pricing during each renewal and amendment activity with suppliers.

  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and liabilities in contracts as they relate to CIBC policies. Provide guidance to Line of Business on contractual terms, negotiation positions, and risk management strategies. Engage with key stakeholders throughout the organization with expertise related to specific contract clauses when suppliers challenge the preferred language proposed by CIBC.

  • Contract Administration: Utilize contract management systems and processes to maintain accurate contract records, and facilitate effective contract management. Track contract performance, obligations, and deliverables to ensure compliance and prompt action.

  • Collaboration and Negotiation: Collaborate closely with internal teams to understand business requirements, negotiate terms, and resolve contract-related issues. Maintain strong relationships with external partners, clients, and vendors to foster effective communication and ensure mutual understanding.

Job Requirements :

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, law, or a related field. Previous experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Contract Negotiator, or similar role is required.

  • Contractual Expertise: In-depth understanding of contracts, contract negotiation, and contract administration. Proven experience in drafting and negotiating various types of contracts.

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex contractual issues, identify risks, and propose effective solutions. Strong problem-solving skills to address contract-related challenges and conflicts.

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate complex legal and commercial terms into easily understandable language. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of contractual agreements. Ability to review and analyze contracts for potential risks and discrepancies.

  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously. Effective time management to prioritize tasks and meet critical timelines.

  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and requirements.
