Job Description

Position Overview

The responsibilities of the Procurement Senior Associate include issuing bids, drafting contracts, administering contracts, and managing relationships with capital component suppliers, manufacturers, and internal departments while driving towards cost reduction and improved fleet availability. The role will report to the Renewable Procurement Manager. This position works a hybrid schedule from Invenergy's office in downtown Chicago.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate suppliers, products, and services to obtain comparative information for use in developing strategic sourcing strategies and executing associated master supply agreements.

  • Prepare and evaluate formal and informal bid and request for proposal (RFP) packages for analysis and approval.

  • Drive commercial negotiations and define contractual obligations within delegated scope of responsibility and in accordance with Invenergy’s procurement policies.

  • Support critical supplier relationship management and assist in building strategy for future partnerships within areas of assigned responsibility.

  • Conduct studies and spend analyses to determine new or better sources of supply for products, services, or commodities within areas of assigned responsibility.

  • Analyze price trends and assess their impact on future activities, continuously develop market knowledge, and assess suppliers based upon organizational key performance indicators.

  • Perform continuous contract management and process improvement within sourcing scope.

  • Train personnel as needed and support implementation of procurement processes across the business.

  • Other duties or assignments as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline

  • 3+ years’ experience in category management, strategic sourcing, procurement or a related field

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong ability to analyze data and interpret statistics.

  • Experience in project management and strategic problem solving.

  • Experienced commercial negotiator, with an understanding of the legal aspects of procurement

  • Proven and influential verbal and written communicator

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills including exceptional attention to detail
