TEKsystems Site Reliability Practice Architect (Remote) in Chicago, Illinois

Description:

This SRE team will oversee Dive Deep & Align Advisory sessions and build SRE program leaders internally. It will also recruit and develop talent for client assignments. This Practice Architect will be tactical and ideate best SRE practices in observability, production governance, risk management, and delivery excellence to maintain a "Well-Managed" team (Meeting SLAs and SLOs and being proactive > reactive).

The ideal candidate must have most of the following experience:

  • Defining implementation strategies.

  • Must have experience building teams from scratch and creating SRE environments.

  • Deep diving into code fixing and delivering it back to the development team.

  • Creating automation strategies for scalability and system efficiency.

  • Defining Automation tools.

  • Strong SLOs, SLAs, and SLIs; building amazing monitoring systems

  • Informing application development team(s) if code is not scaling up or down.

  • Key contributor in forming the team’s technical strategy and aligning the team and partners with it. You'll initiate large projects with sophisticated architecture, breaking them down into logical modules so that other engineers can be utilized. Working frequently with other teams, you will coordinate significant changes to cross-system architectures, influencing upstream or downstream for the most efficient solutions.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Work with engineering teams to propose features that solve recurring patterns of customer complaints

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, distributed, fault-tolerant systems that satisfy sophisticated requirements.

  • Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning, and launch reviews

  • Maintain services once they are live by measuring and tracking availability, latency, and overall system health

  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolving systems by suggesting changes that improve reliability and velocity.

Job Description

  • 10+ years of experience as a technology leader with 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS or Azure or GCP Cloud technologies

  • Strong knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts and principles

  • Strong background in software/system engineering and architecture

  • Experience utilizing monitoring solutions, such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, Pager Duty, AWS CloudWatch and New Relic

  • Experience with automating engineering and creating high standards around deployments, logging, monitoring, and alerting for an enterprise

  • Strategize and execute a vision around the KPI’s & Metrics defined for the organization

Candidate Ideally have most of the following:
