Job Title: Tax – Manager – International Tax Services – Multiple Positions

Approved Locations: 171 N. Clark Street, Suite 200, Chicago, IL 60601. 10% travel to various unanticipated locations in relation to required attendance of client meetings, conferences, and other client matters. Work at various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. May work remotely.

Job Description:

As the Tax – Manager – International Tax Services, you’’ll manage international tax services that provide measurable value and advise clients from a range of different industries on international tax matters.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Oversee clients’ cross-border tax issues and enhance the overall effectiveness of their custom tax strategy.

  • Supervise, train, and mentor Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns on international tax projects and assess performance of staff for engagement reviews.

  • Manage international tax issues for assigned portfolio of clients.

  • Review complex business returns with international complexities and make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities.

  • Oversee staff as they utilize tax-related software to prepare and process returns and research tax matters.

  • Ensure responses to inquiries by the IRS and other tax authorities are completed timely and accurately.

  • Make high-level decisions and ensure successful management of each client portfolio.

  • Supervise 8 subordinate employees.

You have the following technical skills and qualifications:

  • Requirement - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related, or combination of education and work experience or certifications deemed to be equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related, or the foreign degree equivalent, and 5 years of progressively more responsible experience as an International Tax Associate, Manager, or Associate Director, or an alternate related acceptable occupation.

  • Relevant experience - Work or academic experience must have included: supervising staff and leading international tax projects; advising multi-national clients on international corporate tax matters and issues; managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients, including multinationals, mid-market and private-equity backed businesses; tax software such as GoSystems, CCH Axcess, OneSource Income Tax, and Corp Tax; providing tax consulting advice to U.S. multinationals with U.K. and European activities, providing advice and solutions to clients on cross-border tax issues; coaching staff, managing staff performance, and supporting staff development; running client meetings and workshops in relation to project management and in relation to business development; and management of billing procedures and management project performance metrics.

10% travel to various unanticipated locations in relation to required attendance of client meetings, conferences, and other client matters. Work at various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. May work remotely
