Job Summary We are currently hiring a Payroll Specialist for our Client Service team, and our ideal candidate will possess a passion for impacting lives and our community. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure professional customer service and support to field operations as well as work-site employees as needed for payroll related duties. Essential Duties Your Day-to-Day Leadership includes Activities such as these: Enter confidential banking/financial direct deposit information into the PeopleSoft System prior to keying payroll. Verify that all forms received are current approved versions before submission/entry (i.e., direct deposit forms, stop pays). Ensure the timely and accurate payment of employee wages and associated customer billing by completing payroll within the stated guidelines. Coordinate the payroll process with other departments and sites for the purpose of delivering services in compliance with established guidelines. Process payroll and/or imports into the PeopleSoft system. Verify entries, cross checks, and validate data. Investigate and correct payroll processing errors. Submit sessions after validating and balancing daily. Provide highest level confidentially when handling and/or reviewing private information such as; social security numbers, banking account information, W-2 information, etc. Inform other staff and/or outside parties regarding procedure requirements for the purpose of processing transactions. Meet all deadlines as needed to complete the payroll process. Competencies Competencies we value for this role include ethical conduct, thoroughness, detail-oriented, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong time management skills, customer-service orientation, good skills in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), proven strong organizational skills, and an ability to effectively prioritize in a high volume, multi-task environment. Ability to use logic to solve difficult problems quickly by separating relevant and irrelevant information; establishes facts, obtains all pertinent information before making decisions and bases decisions on concrete evidence. Prior payroll or accounting experience. Prior PeopleSoft or other HRIS experience is preferred and minimum one year of related experience.
