Position Overview:

This position is responsible to meet the goals and objectives of the organization by providing payroll processes and payroll support to the organization. This position will come into contact with all Human Resources and Payroll team members, current and former employees, managers, state/federal agencies, auditors, benefits and payroll vendors. Must have attention to detail, knowledge of payroll, tax, benefit and Human Resources law. Will work independently with minimal supervision, must exercise good judgement.

Responsibilities:

  • Process hi-volume multi-state full cycle payroll for exempt and hourly non-exempt employees. As well as off cycle and supplemental payrolls throughout the year.

  • Responsible for all payroll tax requirements including completing applications, set up of state tax enrollment including SIT, SUI & local accounts, and compliance with local, state and federal agencies

  • Calculate manual checks for missing, additional and special pay requests

  • Understand basic Garnishment requests in case review is needed

  • Payroll administration including set ups of earnings/deduction codes, memos, and taxes

  • Audit Payroll systems output (pay registers, change reports, UI, timekeeping records) for accuracy and compliance with established standards prior to final payroll processing

  • Maintain related records of the accumulation and use of vacation, holiday and sick hours/days

  • Standard, ADHOC and specialty report writing for VP of HR, HR department and management

  • Provide excellent customer service to the field including payroll information, training, answer questions, explain calculations, taxes and deductions, and resolve discrepancies

  • Remain current on changing Federal, State and local regulations and legislation affecting pay, tax, timekeeping 401k and benefits.

  • Annual increase and bonus calculations, analysis, and payments

  • Assist in the preparation of General Ledger Entries, Cash requirements, tax, and reporting for Finance

  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications/Education/Experience

  • Associates degree preferred

  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of high-volume payroll

  • Power Excel skills, HRIS & payroll software proficiency

  • APA (or similar) certification and membership preferred

  • Current full-cycle UKG payroll processing experience

  • Solid working knowledge of payroll processes, manufacturing, pay cards and payroll regulations.

  • Experience using Payroll systems (ADP, UKG, Workday, etc)

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, Teams and Outlook.

  • Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.

  • Exceptional time management and organization skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.

  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Work effectively in a team as well as independently.

  • Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
