Focus on the Family Project Manager 2 - ePMO in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The Project Manager 2, ePMO position exists to provide strong and neutral enterprise project leadership and play a role in the definition, coordination, and delivery of all aspects of Focus on the Family enterprise initiatives. These enterprise efforts, with varied sizes and complexities, will require collaborative work with internal support teams, management, and external representatives to ensure that all project team members have complete understanding of the customers’ project needs. This position must be aware of the overall direction of the project, timeline, customers’ expectations and strategically manage situations that may unexpectedly evolve during the project or in the customer relationship.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains strong, effective stakeholder relationships, monitors perceptions of deliverables, and provides stakeholders with education and options when challenges arise during projects

  • Manages enterprise ministry projects based on Focus on the Family’s ministry wide processes and gathers appropriate signoffs on project control documents

  • Works with Master Scheduler to ensure the day-to-day accuracy and maintenance of the Enterprise Project Management Office’s initiatives

  • Works with all appropriate management levels to analyze project documents for realistic objectives, scope, timeline, and process

  • Identifies and mitigates items impacting the successful delivery of project including impacts to timelines, budget, quality, etc.

  • Monitors, tracks, and reports all actual results against baseline plan

  • Owns the process of tracking and communicating appropriately all issues, risks, and action items

  • Is actively involved in risk avoidance and reports regularly with detailed mitigation and contingency plans

  • Is responsible for up-to-date weekly communications of project status to appropriate leadership and project stakeholders

  • Performs various project creation and maintenance activities including but not limited to assisting with the development of project plans, project charters, data flow/process flow charts/relationship diagrams, communication matrix, risk assessments, work breakdown structures, timelines and any other template documents required for projects

  • Ensure that initiatives and activities are supported by hyper-detailed project documentation (meeting notes and various forms of documentation) as well as post-project activities including project assessment and documentation (e.g. lessons learned, and customer satisfaction surveys)

    Knowledge/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in in Project Management or equivalent experience/certifications

  • 4-6 years project management experience in the Internet/Intranet/IT industry and/or Enterprise PMO to include diverse management/delivery of projects and services

  • Knowledge of basic PMI project management methodology, or equivalent

  • Formal training in scope management, risk management, advanced scheduling, and software quality best practices.

  • Competency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS Power Point, Visio, Internet Browsers

  • PMP Certified through PMI, preferred

    Salary Range: $81,120 to $94,120/yr
