CITY OF COLUMBIA Public Information Specialist - Police Department in Columbia, Missouri

Special Instructions to Applicants: The City of Columbia, Missouri is seeking a highly motivated and dependable individual willing to provide a professional level of communication to our community. Come and work for the City that works for you! The starting salary range is $46,727.00 minimum - $57,475 midpoint annually. ($22.47 - $27.63 per hour). Position is also eligible for shift differential of $1.00 per hour for all hours worked from 6:00 pm - 6:00 am). As a City of Columbia, Missouri employee, you will receive one of the best employment benefit packages in the state. Applicant must be able to pass an extensive law enforcement background check.

The purpose of this job is to provide credible, transparent, and responsive information to external and internal customers via traditional and non-traditional media and marketing strategies. Utilizes strong partnerships within divisions, city departments, government agencies, and private entities. Facilitates and implements communications within the department and community, and works to increase awareness, use, and understanding of assigned department through marketing, advertising, and public relations strategies.
