The Associate Scrum Master is an individual contributor position responsible for working closely with a diverse group of cross-functional partners to deliver an exceptional customer experience, aligned with business goals and objectives. This is a servant leadership role serving as an inward-facing organizer responsible for facilitating team activities, developing and tracking metrics, and reporting all activities for 1-2 digital Product Teams. Encouraging teams to adhere to Agile values is a crucial component of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assure assigned Product Team(s) live by the principles, values, and practices of Agile

  • Remove internal roadblocks that prevent the team from reaching full velocity and raise external blockers to platform leadership and key partners

  • Experiment with and integrate processes and tools that encourage continuous improvement

  • Develop a deep understanding of assigned Product Team(s) digital capabilities and vision for future enhancements Collaborate with Development Leads and Product Owners to promote a shared vision and roadmap

  • Facilitate sprint planning and retrospective activities

  • Emphasize code quality through small, focused user stories; assist teams with a hands-on servant leader approach from inception to delivery of work

  • Assist Product Owners with keeping backlogs appropriately groomed

  • Maintain relevant metrics and monitor team throughput and velocity, driving performance and continuous improvement Assist with other product teams as required to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the work

  • Facilitate meetings and follow up with resulting action items Prepare and lead presentations as requested

Qualifications

  • 3+ years professional experience or technology project management experience, ideally with a digital commerce focus

  • Experience with SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall development approaches

  • Experience with User Stories, Acceptance Test-Driven Development, Test-Driven Development, Behavior-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Pairing, and Automated Testing

  • An understanding of Scrum ceremonies, methods of story estimation, and velocity measurement

  • Strong creative, analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative global work environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years in agile environment preferred

  • Professional experience in direct retail, e-commerce, or consulting environment

  • Experience with leading ALM tools (JIRA/Version One/TFS/Agile Central/Rally, etc.)

  • Ability to work in a continuously changing environment

    Salary: $71,500 – $92,000
