Scope of the Position:

As the Plant HR Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing all HR processes to include compensation and benefits, performance development and review, talent management, recruiting, employee surveys, and employee relations. You will focus on ensuring the plant has the right number and type of talent required to execute plant strategy and achieve desired business results, and establishes and maintains a positive work environment in accordance and support of Corning’s Values.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with HR function and plant management to implement hiring strategy for 1,100+ roles along with vendors and community partners to ensure access to the right talent to achieve business objectives

  • Collaborates closely with plant management to design, create, and implement processes and procedures, and implement positive work environment initiatives for a brand new facility and employees

  • Supports plant management in effectively deploying training programs, performance management and rewards processes/practices to drive required levels of employee accountability for desired performance results and ensure retention of top performers

  • Resolves employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner that recognizes employee needs and protects the needs of the plant to operate in an effective and efficient manner

  • Implements appropriate risk management policies and procedures to ensure plant compliance with safetyrequirements and local, state, and federal employment laws

  • Building the plant HR team through identifying and hiring appropriate roles and skill sets

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, focus on Human Resources Management or Industrial/Labor relations preferred.

  • Master’s degree and HR certification, a plus.

  • At least 7 - 10 years of HR experience (generalist/specialist combined)

Required Skills:

  • Successful track record of performance in a plant HR manager/leadership role

  • First line supervision experience

  • Successful track record in the deployment of global HR business processes or programs

  • Knowledge of employment laws and policies

  • Candidate must have a track record of accomplishment and must be a self-starter

The range for this position is $124,078.00 - $170,608.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
