Precise Systems, Inc. Database Administrator in Crane, Indiana

We are currently seeking a Database Administrator to support our customer in Crane, IN. The ideal candidate will be able to perform the following duties, as well as possess the following education and experience:

Duties:

  • Database systems administration, including such tasks as the development, design, and maintenance of databases.

  • Provide web application support utilizing PHP/JavaScript, Oracle, and Apache in a Red Hat environment.

  • Experience with data management systems that allow for the secure storage, query, and utilization of data.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting databases AND data management systems with:

  • Incident management

  • Service level management

  • Change management

  • Release management

  • Continuity management

  • Availability management

    Desired Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical field

    Desired Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years relevant database experience.

  • Strong understanding of Javascript, HTML, PHP, and experience in Oracle database environments.

  • Possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification: CCNA-Security; CySA+; GICSP; GSEC; Security+ CE; CND; SSCP

    Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Database Administrator.

  • Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.

  • Hands-on experience with database standards and end-user applications.

  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.

  • Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding.

  • Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools.

  • Familiarity with programming languages API.

  • Problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years relevant computer systems experience.

  • Proven working experience as a Database Administrator.

  • Experience with database software/web applications.

  • Experience in data modeling and database design.

  • Experience in managing database security, including access control and encryption.

  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

  • Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.

  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for databases.

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Experience with servers including Linux and Windows Server environments.
