Key Qualifications

• Have experience with a diverse range of infrastructures including AWS, GCP and bare metal.

• Have experience running Git and Artifact management at scale.

• Have experience with System monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana), or Splunk.

• Have experience with container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Have extensive experience building applications using technologies such as Python, Redis, and Postgres

• Have experience writing high-quality code in one or more system programming languages (Go, Python, C/C++)

• Have experience with modern Unix/Linux development and runtime environments.

• Have a solid understanding of TCP/IP and basic networking in general.

• Have a basic understanding of the HTTP/S/TLS stack.

• Have a working knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.

• Have experience building and operating distributed systems at scale.

• Have excellent debugging skills and attention to detail when breaking down problems

Description

As a key contributor on the Software Platform Development team you will work on: • Designing the architecture of systems at scale that can globally and efficiently support source code management, artifact management and distribution along with key CI/CD workflows. • Creating tooling to build and monitor software across a variety of cloud and infrastructure services. • Designing custom services to facilitate easier integration testing, resource utilization, and many more. • Ensure services maintain resiliency and consistency along with integration into broader Apple developer ecosystem. • Collaborating with internal developers and external partners on scoping new features, triaging workflows, and testing to ensure supportable at scale. Senior engineers will be expected to lead and excel at making informed technology choices within complex architectures, whether it's deciding to build or buy specific components and selecting the right frameworks. Your deep understanding of the organization's business, products, customers, and strategy will empower us to pinpoint opportunities aligning with our team's mission. We expect senior engineers to make decisive choices even amid conflicting perspectives, demonstrating our commitment by disagreeing when necessary and then committing to the chosen path. Navigating ambiguity is our strength - you will concentrate on the broader objectives, goals, and desired impact, taking deliberate steps forward. Education & Experience

BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.

• At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $300,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
