Job Purpose / Duties & Responsibilities

Perform engineering duties in the manufacture of tools, adaptors, controls, machines, and other mechanically or electronically functioning equipment to support manufacturing processes. Apply engineering expertise to creatively solve problems. Will be responsible for assisting with project planning, research and development, prototyping, testing, and release to manufacturing of new and improvements to existing equipment. Will be responsible for keeping manufacturing prints current.\ \

  • Adhere to company policies and present a professional, positive attitude at all times.
  • Work effectively with other BG personnel in a group or individually to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Apply engineering principles and practices to the processes used at BG Products.
  • Identify, evaluate, report, and assist with disposition of non-conforming parts and assemblies.
  • Assist design engineers with design-to-manufacture questions and processes.
  • Specify and identify system components or direct modification of manufacturing processes and machines to ensure conformance with manufacturing specifications.
  • Integrate parts into Product Data Management (PDM) software by assigning part numbers, descriptions, and Bill of Material lists.
  • Design manufacturing apparatus and equipment using 3D printing or other rapid prototyping techniques.
  • Develop standardized and repeatable procedures for manufacturing and testing products.
  • Diagnose process failures and production difficulties to improve existing testing/tooling apparatus.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
  • Compute mathematical formulas to develop detailed specifications for components or machinery.
  • Layout and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines for both 1) tools, equipment, adaptors, and 2) fixtures and tooling.
  • Occasional work with vendors to obtain products, prototypes, samples, schematics, product information and other materials pertaining to new and existing designs.
  • Provide feedback to management concerning current projects and other needs.
