POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for an array of development tasks. As well as general Tier technical support for various utilized applications. Will be expected to undertake such duties as; supporting the technical phases of the software development and support life cycle (requirements, configuration, design, coding, testing, training, and production support). As well as the ability to adapt and learn new technologies as per business requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Develop with and support packaged, configurable applications for the business. Major applications include the following; Oracle EBS, Oracle SOA Suite -B2B, Infor AS, SharePoint, M-Files and other leveraged applications

  • Design and development of components (Forms, Report, Interface, Conversion and Enhancements)

  • Gain solid understanding of the business process, workflows and data requirements for each application package and develop deep understanding of applications, supporting infrastructure and systems integration

  • Establish close partnerships with departments and vendors

  • Research, implement, and support new solutions when appropriate

  • Plan and develop use-case test plans and perform unit testing

  • Design, build, test, implement and maintain custom components and extensions as necessary for the packaged applications

  • Help define new business processes, data elements and system change requests

  • Configure and monitor application performance, capacity and response times

  • Handle application software monitoring, tuning, problem resolution, implementation, configuration, upgrades, and patches

  • Provide Tier III technical support in accurately troubleshooting or researching software so that problems are resolved quickly without significant interruption to service

  • Maintain accurate and appropriate change control records

  • Recommend modifications to business processes and technology to reduce user problems

  • Potential to provide on-call support on a rotating schedule or as needed for emergency situations, including outside of normal business hours

  • Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action

  • All other task as requested by management

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science

  • Strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies

  • Possess a general understanding of infrastructure and applications, with an emphasis on application execution and development

  • Ability to develop, review and follow documented procedures

  • Experience with programming languages such as PL/SQL, XML, XSLT, Java, C#, VB, SQL, Excel VBA, WSDL

  • Experience of databases including Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL

  • Linux proficiency

  • Familiar with EDI, AS2, SFTP communications is a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with business end-users

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to:

  • Long periods of standing/moving, working around moving mechanical parts/conveyors

  • Loud environment, hot/cold, wet/dry conditions

  • Lifting/carrying <50 pounds

  • Frequent reaching/pulling/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling/bending
