Long Island Educational Opportunity Center - Admissions Advisor / Recruiter

The Long Island Educational Opportunity Center (Long Island EOC) seeks a qualified individual who will work with limited supervision as an Admissions Advisor / Recruiter. The Admissions Advisor / Recruiter will represent the Long Island EOC to prospective students, community organizations, Long Island EOC partners, and secondary schools throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties; will follow up with interested parties; and will act as a liaison between community organizations/partners and the Long Island EOC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represents the Long Island EOC to prospective students, secondary schools, and community organizations throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counites.

  • Delivers approved presentations to Secondary Schools and community organizations as requested and scheduled.

  • Distributes Long Island EOC promotional materials throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties via cold calls and scheduled meetings.

  • Collects basic data from all interested parties to allow for tracking through the application process.

  • Aids interested students in the completion of the Long Island EOC on-line application.

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of EOC programs, schedules, and admission criteria.

  • Aids in the planning and execution of EOC special events including open-houses, community events, and college fairs.

    Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Earned Bachelor's Degree.

  • Available to work day and evening hours and occasional weekends.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Able to travel throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties on a regular basis. (A Long Island EOC vehicle is available)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with a computer-based student information system (Banner).

  • One or more years business or educational outreach and/or customer service experience.

  • Bilingual.

    Additional Information:

This is a full-time UUP position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Tuesday, January 23, 2024, and ending Monday, February 5, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

  • CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Open Until Filled

  • SALARY: $55,000 + $3,087 in downstate location pay = $58,087 Total Compensation.
