Our Opportunity:

Technical Director to focus and transform the organization towards the New Service Desktop (service cloud and integration) and App Modernization (42 applications) by providing technical direction, oversight and architecture.

What you’ll do:

Responsible for design and architecture guidance across Schwab's suite of Service and Operations Desktop solutions, including desktop, web and server applications. The team is currently heavily focused across several technology strategies such as micro front ends and Service Cloud. You'll work closely with other technologists to define the Service Desktop technology strategy for the firm. You'll be a part of the Service Desktop Technology team: A group of thought leaders responsible for developing applications serving our internal representatives.

Other duties including: Leading design discussions and mentoring engineers on proper solutions. Publishing and presenting to technology leaders and business executives. Providing thought leadership around technical solutions. Review, comment and contribute to the firm's overall technology strategy.

What you have:

Ability to define and present a vision for the future of the Schwab Service Desktop

  • Leadership qualities which engineers recognize and respect

  • Good judgment and the ability to handle stressful situations

  • Broad knowledge of the distributed technology space: languages, frameworks (including Angular), techniques, industry trends, etc.

  • Deep knowledge of REST, Web Services space and micro front ends.

  • Deep knowledge of one or more languages C/C++, C#, Angular and Java.

  • Some knowledge and experience with server side .NET.

  • Some knowledge and experience with client side Angular.

  • Knowledgeable and experienced with systems integration.

  • Knowledge and experience with cloud platform environments.

  • Ability (and preference) to work in an Agile environment.

  • Ability to work with engineers and executives.

  • A software engineering background.

  • Skill with Visio and PowerPoint preferred
