With direction, performs duties as a Splicer I Coax as a part of the construction of telecommunications to ensure scope of work performed is within standards required by our customer.

If you are interested in being a Splicer I Coax , here are some of are requirements for this position:

  • You will start your workday at midnight with the possibility of working to noon

  • You will have to set up to work in backyards at night

  • You will work with splicing equipment on the ground and on power poles

  • You will dig up cable, moving and installing new peds.

  • You will Install boxes on walls, attaching cable and pipe to walls

  • You will remove old cable from power poles

  • You will push cable through pipes

  • You will place self-support cable on power poles to buildings

  • You will supply your own hand tools.

    What you’ll learn…

  • You will, learn and perform task associated with electronic upgrade and splicing of coaxial cable for cable television systems.

  • You will, learn and maintain proper inventory on vehicle based on work assignment.

  • You will, learn and assemble equipment according to design specifications.

  • You will, learn to arrive at locations, install equipment on pole or in pedestal using various hand tools.

  • You will, learn and perform test, activates, and troubleshoots equipment after installation.

  • You will reconcile all issued parts and materials daily to ensure accurate material usage counts.

  • You will complete daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete \"as-builts maps' for area built and track daily production.

  • You will close a project by completing production sheets, verifying proper levels after activation, and adjust and troubleshoot, as necessary.

  • You will be paid by the job when training is complete

Qualifications

Who we are looking for…

  • Must be able to work hours between Midnight to Noon

  • You will have 0-1 or more years’ experience as a coax splicer with experience on outside plant or system installations while working from blueprints, specifications, and system documentation.

  • You will have a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • You can lift up to 80 lbs.

  • You must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

  • A valid driver's license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position.

  • A good driving records.

  • Ability to read and build from blueprints and/or wire diagrams.

  • Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary.

  • Must be able to climb numerous telephone poles daily, approximately 20-feet in height.

The Pay range is commensurate with experience: $21.00/hour to $25.00/hour

Applicants are required to pass all company drug testing, submit to a background check and adhere to all OSHA, state, city/municipality safety requirements and training provided by the company as required.
