Paychex Tax Support Specialist - Advance Partners in Highland Hills, Ohio

Overview

Acts as an additional resource for Quality Control Specialists and Corporate Payroll Tax Analysts to ensure optimal performance and productivity for Full Service Client's.

Please note: The person who fills this role will train/work in the office in Highland Hills, OH or Rochester NY & will work towards a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days at home if desired.

The shift is Monday - Friday approx. 8:30 am - 5:00 pm ET with some overtime required during quarter-end and year-end tax seasons.

  • Provides support in the execution of Quality Control Specialists responsibilities to assist team members and maintain service levels.

  • Responsible to assure accurate and timely preparation and filing of all Quarterly and Annual payroll related tax returns for Full Service Clients including but not limited to Federal 941 and 940, State Withholding, State Unemployment, Local Withholding, sales tax filing and submittal of wage information to SSA.

  • Keep abreast of current tax laws to ensure compliance.

  • Assist with client Tax Registrations.

  • Respond to Tax notices and resolve issues.

  • Reconcile General Ledger accounts related to Tax and Quality Control teams.

  • Assists with new client setups to identify any potential setup errors including reviewing and auditing client contract setups, adding clients to appropriate systems/spreadsheets.

  • Assist with audit prep, year-end prep, schedules and creation and distribution of W2's.

  • Assist with calculating client closeouts and preparing final tax packets.

  • Audit and updates client state unemployment rates to ensure accurate withholding from the weekly accounting statements.

  • All duties are implemented in a manner to support company policies and procedures and enhance teamwork.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree - Preferred

  • 2 years of experience in Understanding of basic accounting principles. Must be detail oriented, customer focused, proactive and able to work under pressure.

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $22-24.00 hourly. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
