Senior Operations Associate - Accounting and Finance

Job Description:

A dynamic small hedge fund is seeking a Senior Operations Associate with a focus on Accounting and Finance. We desire applicants with at least 1+ years of experience in public accounting, investment analysis, private equity, or a similar field. This position encompasses both analysis and some routine accounting tasks, including but not limited to accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and other general ledger (GL) functions. If you are an analytical thinker, with a deep understanding of financial operations, we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and process AP, AR and other GL functions.

2. Assist with preparation of financial statements, reports, and regulatory filings.

3. Participate in the development of financial forecasts and budgets.

4. Contribute to investment analyses and decision-making processes.

5. Provide valuable input to the evaluation of potential investments.

6. Adhere to and improve financial policies and procedures to ensure operations are compliant and efficient.

7. Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.

8. Work with the investment team to model and track portfolio performance.

9. Conduct regular risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies.

10. Engage in ad-hoc projects and analyses as requested by senior management.

Requirements:

1. 1+ years of experience in public accounting, investment analysis, private equity, or a similar field.

2. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

3. Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles.

4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially MS Excel.

5. Experience with accounting software and databases.

6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
