SUMMARY

The Sr. Human Resources Generalist will provide support to business unit in all areas of HR including employee relations, job descriptions, policy development and changes, affirmative action planning, internal equity evaluations, organizational changes, talent acquisition, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, benefits administration, and new program support.

Ensures that all Human Resources policies are followed and adhered to, including those from AAR as well as specific EEO, Department of Labor, and Affirmative Action policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Recruitment and Selection:
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.

  • Source candidates through various channels such as job boards, social media, and professional networks.

  • Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and facilitate the selection process.

  • Coordinate pre-employment checks and administer onboarding procedures for new hires.

  1. Employee Relations:
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.

  • Address employee concerns and facilitate conflict resolution when necessary.

  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints and disciplinary matters, maintaining confidentiality and impartiality.

  • Provide guidance and support to supervisors and managers on employee relations issues.

  1. Performance Management:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of performance appraisal processes.

  • Provide training and support to managers on conducting performance evaluations and setting performance goals.

  • Monitor and track employee performance, providing feedback and coaching as needed.

  1. Training and Development:
  • Identify training needs within the organization and develop training programs to address those needs.

  • Coordinate training sessions and workshops, both internally and externally.

  • Track employee participation in training activities and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.

  1. Policy Implementation and Compliance:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Stay up-to-date on changes in employment legislation and advise management on necessary actions.

  1. Process improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements for people functions in collaboration with leadership, local and global HR teams.
  1. HR Administration:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.

  • Prepare and analyze HR reports on metrics such as turnover, attendance, and recruitment.

  • Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. MBA preferred.

  • 3-5 years of experience in human resources business partner roles, preferably as an HR Generalist.

  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus, and certification is required within 1 year of employment
