Army National Guard Units AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER in Lakehurst, New Jersey

Summary This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER, Position Description Number D1992000 and is part of the NJ AASF 1, National Guard. The primary purpose of this position is to provide control, inspection and certification, testing, evaluation and maintenance or overhaul of Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE). Responsibilities As a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER, WG-4818-10, you will: Inspects, tests, certifies, repairs, assembles and maintains ALSE to include aircraft/aircrew electronic communications equipment, and aircraft-oxygen related items, aircraft modular survival system, life preservers, helicopter emergency egress devices, first aid kits and microclimate cooling vests. Instructs crewmembers in all categories of ALSE. Instructs aircrew and other personnel such as aircraft maintenance personnel, aircrew and non-aircrew members of other services and agencies in the care, use, theory of operation and capabilities of ALSE used in a variety of global environments. Certifies initial and continuation training of aircrew and other personnel. Complies with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations. Supervises, instructs, trains and certifies traditional Guard members on all facets of the aircrew life support career field; performs task evaluations and documents OJT records. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Prepares Annual Budget analysis and projections for ALSE shop operations. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Military Grade: Min: E-3 and Max: E-7 Applicant(s) (Enlisted) who are over grade must clearly state, in their resumes, their intentions to willingly take a reduction in grade Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a military unit compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position. Military Unit -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1) Areas of Consideration: CAT 3 : All current members of the New Jersey National Guard Military Grades: E-3 to E-7 Certification: Must complete Aircraft Survival Flight Equipment Repairer Course within 1 year of appointment NOTE: The initial cut-off for referral consideration is July 13, 2018; applications received by this date will have the first opportunity for review. Applications received after this date will be given consideration on an as needed basis. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have the following General Experience or training which demonstrates the applicants knowledge of materials and equipment used in the line of work (helmets, torso harness assemblies, parachutes, survival equipment). Ability to understand written instructions and to use reference materials and manuals.
